Thunderbirds are a special natural treasure that live in grasslands and other areas in some alpine zones of the Japanese Alps. It is an endangered bird, with brownish-brown summer plumage that changes to all-white in winter, the same color as that of snow-covered mountains.
This ornament is thought to have been made as a souvenir of mountain climbing in the old days.
