A local toy of Shimane Prefecture.
It is said that the ladies of the Matsue clan started making these dolls in the Edo period (1603-1867), and they are also one of the sister dolls introduced from Edo (Tokyo),
There are three types of hairstyles: “ogakure,” “momokuri,” and “shimada,” each representing a girl, a daughter, and a married woman, respectively.
