A local toy based on the pheasant motif that is often seen in the Kyushu region, there is a theory that the fallen members of the Heike clan began making these toys in memory of their glamorous life in the capital in the olden days.
The head and abdomen of this kiji-guruma are carved with a machete, and the back is made of paulownia wood with geometric patterns painted in tropical tones.
